1st yr Anniversary

Today is my 1st anniversary in my company..
Last year today, it's my first day of work..
Honestly, my first impression of my office is==> it look very old..
But what can we expect from a nearly 40 yr old building?
Anyway, till now I'm happy with my job, my boss and my colleagues..

Also in this company, I experience company retrenchment for the first time of my life..
Seriously it don't feel good although I know very well I'm not affected this time..
Even my aunt was affected too.. But it sort of a good deal for her since she is going to retire in another 4 yrs.. My colleague and I are having headache now with the planning of the re-organisation of my department..

Audition for the Grand Final

Today, we went for audition at Mediacorp. My boss is super good to allow me taking time off for this audition without having taking leave since I always stay back after work. Anyway back to the audition, tt consisted of a 15qns MCQ and a short face-to-face interview. The MCQ was really tough though they were similar to those in the weekly contest but this time round there was no Internet for us to do research. So I can only anyhow guess. As for the face-to-face interview, it was quite ok as I've no problem in communicating in Chinese.. But my ge seen to be a bit nervous as the interviewer actually commented it.

So now we'll wait for the result which will be out latest by the coming Mon. If the both of us or either one got into the grand final, the recording will be on 2nd Jul..

12-15 Jun 2009 Bangkok Trip

This is my 3rd times to Bangkok within a year!!! This is insane but I love it.. :)

This time round with Ivy and Daoxian.. Really enjoy the trip a lot!!

To save on the airticket cost and time, we took the night flight on 12 Jun after work.
It was a 10pm flight but due to flight delay, we only departed like 11.30pm. By the time we reached the hotel and settle down it was like 3am..

Our first hotel in Bangkok => The Heritage Hotels Sathorn (formerly CK House)


This hotel is super ulu that the taxi driver nearly drop us at nowhere as he couldn't locate at all.. Luckily he managed to contact the hotel staff to guide him.. So we chop chop settle down and sleep.. Initially we decided to wake up at 9.30am (Bangkok Time as it is one hour behind us) however as I couldn't get back to sleep after I woke up at 9am (Singapore time), I went over to knock on the guy's door and woke them up at 9.30am (Singapore Time). Whahaha...

After we woke up, we hired a cab to our next hotel ==> Siri Sathorn!!! The free hotel voucher I won from the Chinese Challenge.. It is super nice. The room just look like what we saw in the net.. Here's the photo.. It has 2 rooms, 1 living room, 2 bathrooms, 1 kitchen and 1 dinning area.. Total area is 100sq meter.. Of course Ivy and I stayed in the master bedroom, which come with TV and a big bathrooms with 2 basins and bath tub..


After settle down all our stuff in the hotel, we went to the 4 faces Buddha to pray. Then we proceed to the next stop Platinum Fashion Mall, when Ivy and I shop till we drop.. Too bad for the guys can only wait and helping us carry our 战利品.

Our D2 we went to the Chatuchak weekend market.. It is still as hot as usual and we sort of lost our way when try to find the Pet section..

After CTC we went to China town as Ivy and Daoxian want to get some 土产. Then we went back to hotel to put down all the stuff and rest.. Luckily we did that as it rain heavily after that.. So we cooked some instant noodle to fill up our stomach while waiting for the rain to stop.. We even take photo at every corner of the room..


Know what we saw rainbow from our room after the room. Not 1 but 2..


We even tabao some local food for supper.. heehe.. We really treat the hotel like our house like that.. As they come with microwave and stove..


Throughout our stay there, we requested like 20 bottles of drinking water from the Hotel and they are free.. How nice of the hotel.. :)

Our last day!!!

As Thailand has increasing case of H1N1 so we decided to wear mask in the plane to prevent us being infected or spread to others if we really infected.. As throughout the 3 days, the 4 of us been sharing drinks and food, so if any of us got infected the rest will be too..

Here mark the end of our short getaway.. Really don't feel like to come back!!!
